WHAT IS THE GOAL?
FTTR is created with the intention of enabling everyone to participate in the art of upcycling. We all have a concrete style and like concrete things. Why don’t we create something with the things that are cluttering our wardrobe? This book has been created with the goal to improve the impact that we, as consumers, have in our planet. It is not just a book for understanding upcycling, but it also includes 20 unique designs with the step-by-step process of creation, and a link to a digital area with plenty of resources to create your own pieces, or to delegate the sewing to local seamsters or seamstresses that you can find in that area.
Do you know the average amount of clothes that stay without being used in our wardrobes?
How many times did you want a piece of clothing tailor made and totally adapted to your taste?
Did you know that by upcycling the clothes in your closet you can increase your positive impact?
Sustainable fashion is 3.0 now. It has advanced and so the people that create it. Wanna be part of it?
AS SEEN IN:
1 BOOK = 1 TREE
I have teamed up with Forest Nation to give back to environment and society. For every sold book, a tree will be planted in Haiti. But that doesn't end here, as this is a social project. Keep reading!
Following a QR code that the book includes, readers have access to a digital area where they can check more facts about sustainability in the fashion industry, extensive details for patterning and sewing, real pictures of the pieces created, and even a list per country of secondhand stores -so the complimentary fabric that the reader might need, would come from reused clothing, to decrease the impact on the environment-.

WHAT DO PEOPLE SAY?
“In order to defeat the linear take-make-and-waste model of living that wreaks such havoc on the planet's life sustaining resources, we need visionaries. These are those individuals pragmatic and skilled enough to coach us in how to adapt, but also exciting enough to inspire us to ditch our safety net. Dan Pontarlier is that person for fashion. He makes upcycled fashion aspirational and accessible to everyone. This is not just a project for a rainy day, it's a new way of thinking.”
DO YOU WANT YOUR DEDICATED COPY?
All of the copies bought in this website are uniquely dedicated.
My way to contribute a bit more is to give you a personalized message of support for you to go through the process of making your wardrobe glow!
How this pledge and collaboration is going to work? As a first step, I will start by planting 500 trees in Haiti (where there is much need), and then I will plant 1 more tree for each book I sell. My book will therefore not only have value for the reader himself, but also for the planet.
So, I will have a forest in my name in Forest Nation, where anyone can go and plant as many trees as they wish besides the ones I’m planting.
The amazing thing is that you can see how many giving trees (with fruit) are planted, how many hardwoods (without fruit), how much CO2 they absorb in a year, and much more. The trees are planted by the local people, and when they bear fruit, they are exploited for their own community. Forest Nation contributes enormously to enrich, among others, the Haitian communities.
A very successful example is Tanzania, where they already have enough trees to support the community and to sell them on the market! Isn’t that amazing?
Get your book now and one of the trees that helps this community will be planted thanks to you.
